I am a very experienced and qualified teacher with many years of successful classroom experience. I have ‘run’ Morton Tutoring (formally Redhill Home Tutoring) in the Redhill/Reigate area very successfully for the past 25 years. I am passionate about helping pupils flourish in their learning journey, by giving engaged, innovative and inspiring lessons.
My tutoring programmes are suitable for pupils from 5 to 16 with a wide range of ability, from pupils with special educational needs, to those who are able to go beyond the curriculum. I support pupils in their learning, and prepare pupils for Key Stage One, Two, Three SATS, Entrance exams and GCSE English and Maths. Children are given different learning strategies to consolidate their learning and develop study skills. I teach 1:1 and in small groups for entrance exams. All pupils are assessed and have a bespoke curriculum prepared. The pupils in the entrance exam groups have regular mock tests and are given interview practice sessions, as part of the programme. Many of my pupils receive scholarships to their chosen school.
For over thirty years, I have been preparing pupils for entrance exams I am able to offer parents advice on next steps and which school may suit their child. I have a good knowledge of all local schools, both private, State Primary, Secondary and London private schools.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I have used the medium of Zoom to teach, and this has worked exceptionally well. At present, I am continuing running group sessions online and am able to offer some lessons/assessments face to face, as well as via Zoom. Unfortunately, I am not able to visit pupils in their homes.
The group lessons are taught during term time but during the holidays 1:1 sessions are still available. I am also able to offer holiday catch up and exam preparation lessons too.
